Preanalytical procedure

Because of the fact that 70% of laboratory mistakes happen in preanalytical phase, Konzililijum took all the measures in order to eliminate such mistakes.

 

First of all, a patient is given professional advice. The patient is adequately prepared for laboratory examinations (the samples are adequately taken, prepared, stored, transported and stabilised in conformity with the rules of good laboratory practice.

 

Konzilijum applies the closed system of the firm “BECKTON DICKINSON” for taking blood samples. The same system is available to all the cooperators of Konzilijum. It is delivered free of charge at the demand of the cooperator. The cooperators are given professional help and training for the use of the system and they are also given the written instructions helping them to avoid any mistakes while taking the samples.

 

Konzilijum offers two possibilities for the transportation of samples: its own public-health nursing (for Belgrade and the surrounding areas) and transportation services of the registered companies (for distant places in Serbia).
